ABOUT

 

I'm a qualified primary teacher with nearly twenty years of experience teaching and tutoring students in the state, SEND (Autism specific), independent and home education sectors.  As a former Director of Pastoral and senior leader who has only recently exited the classroom, I have extensive, up-to-date knowledge of the primary curriculum.  I now specialise in teaching children with a range of SEND, many of whom who are now educated in their home environment.



Children learn best when they are happy, secure and comfortable with expectations and boundaries.  For me, the relationship between teacher and child is of paramount importance and is something which I have always prioritised.  I get to know each child, their likes, dislikes and what engages them in order to individually tailor each session.  When planning activities, I strive to make learning fun, incorporating a range of tasks, games and kinesthetic resources to build confidence and self-esteem.

I work both online and in homes local to Guildford, Surrey on weekdays.
